Yarn Quiz

This is a cute quiz, although I'm not sure what Christian Slater has to do with yarn.

New Fiber! New Spindle!

A couple of weekends ago I dragged B. out to the Spinner's Flock Fleece Sale so that I could indulge in my new fiber interest. He got to meet Jillian, Carla and Kim, and he met Lynne later on at Flying Sheep. He also got to see me in my "element," and (maybe) understands a bit more about my fiber obsession. I ended-up buying five balls of rovings of wool. The wine-colored ball also has silk in it, while the others have mohair. They are all from sheep that were raised in Michigan. The next evening we told some friends at dinner that we had gone to a fiber festival, and they thought we were concerned about being regular! :) Oh non-knitters, they just don't get it.
B. is also my enabler and bought me a beautiful spindle from Kundert Spindles! The wood is cherry and walnut, and has a lot of zip when spun. When it arrived B. asked whether I had used it yet, and at that point I had to admit that I didn't know how to start! At my first lesson the instructor started me off. So at the next Spinner's Flock meeting I will come prepared to learn how to get the fiber attached to the starter yarn. I have until football season to learn how to spin, because buying a spindle for me was an investment into B.'s football watching time as Jillian said. We have spent many a Sunday afternoon with him watching the game and me knitting. It reminds me of how my great-grandma would knit while my great-grandpa would fish.

Knitting Olympics: Final Update

Well, at the end of the Olympics I finished the body, one sleeve, and began the second:

I stopped keeping track of how much time I spent knitting, but I estimate that since my last update I have spent twenty-one hours knitting the sweater. This brings the total amount of time to thirty-eight hours. All I have left to complete is the rest of the second sleeve, the yoke and the finishing. And so I ask you this, do you think I'm 2/3 finished with this sweater? Because if I am then I will qualify for a silver metal. I'm defintely 1/2 done, but I'm not sure about 2/3. Either way, I have loved knitting this sweater and can't wait until I can wear it.

Can anyone explain to me why my sidebar is not aligned with the main section? And how to fix it?
